The Radical Audio Apocalypse have cast their dreamy eyes over our latest EP - here is what they had to say…
“Music can be Serious Business. All that outpouring of emotion, the struggle to be heard and the documentation of man’s real struggles against, like, everything yeah? can be a little frustrating at times. Where a lot of musicians faces can be permanently set to ‘po’, it’s nice to listen to something bright, refreshing, well-crafted and…whisper it…fun.
We are very excited to be invited to play at The Line Of Best Fit night in Liverpool in June. Stealing Sheep and Simian Ghost are both rad, so i think it’ll be a cracker. We’ll post more details of tickets etc nearer the time. Over and Out.
Our track Mutiny has been chosen as the Daily Tune on Zero Music Radio - Cool. They also had some nice things to say - Double cool…
“Main-stream’s not a dirty word, and Married To The Sea are just the kind of band to prove that. Their music is not ‘out there’ or difficult, it’s just pop-rock done right. Married To The Sea make music that can qualify as big-umbrella but doesn’t sacrifice anything in terms of integrity. The hooks are catchy and fresh. The lead singer does the lovelorn guy thing, you know the one. Where you REALLY hope the guy gets the girl in the end. And the production values are clean and light. Familiar but never worn-out, Married To The Sea bring enough earnestness to the mix to always keep it fresh.”
So the very rad Peter Guy from Getintothis has said some very awesome things about the new tracks from our new EP…
“Compelling people to shake their bodies while playing teary-eyed heartbreakers is an old game - but you’ve still got to be good to fully get the job done.
Since 2006, Married to the Sea have specialised in urgent pop with the sole aim to get people shaking on the dancefloor. But they’ve probably not dropped a track quite as good as their latest coronary-inducing diamond.
Recorded by Rob Whitely at Liverpool’s Whitewood Studios, Mutiny, from the quartet’s forthcoming Pack Xerxes EP is a hip-displacing slice of frantic college rock imbued with the kind of keyboard riff that’ll have girls urging their reluctant hipster boyfriend’s to join them on the boards.
Backed by the super-happy, super-clappy Crash Hams, Married to the Sea - join contemporaries Voo as Getintothis’ favourite bunch of moaners producing sad songs guaranteed to put a big grin on your face.”
